These principles emphasize forgiving as Christ forgave, finding personal freedom, and honoring God through forgiveness.
Forgive Others as God Forgives You
Forgiveness reflects God’s mercy towards us. We are called to forgive others because God forgave us through Christ.
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” – Ephesians 4:32
“For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you.” – Matthew 6:14
Forgiveness Leads to Freedom and Healing
Unforgiveness traps us in bitterness, but forgiveness brings freedom and healing for both the forgiver and the forgiven.
“Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” – Colossians 3:13
“But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive you your sins.” – Matthew 6:15
Forgiveness Demonstrates Love and Obedience to God
Forgiveness is an act of love and obedience to God, aligning with His command to love others and show His grace.
“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins.” – 1 Peter 4:8
“Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone.” – Romans 12:17
